There is a mix of wide and tight grain patterns, with knots throughout. As rural communities developed, it was common to clear cut a building site and use the downed trees to build the structure. Multiple pine species were commonly used for these buildings, and will be found in the same lot of the Naily Pine flooring. Farmhouse Pine is free of juvenile wood and retains stability that is superior to today’s productions.
This product will have circular saw marks on the face, and is from the Lorillard tobacco company warehouse. This pine grew in an old growth forest, lending it to be a very durable flooring material with a traditional rustic, textured face.

Patina: Exposure to the elements and previous use in another structure through the decades has produced wood with unrivaled character and variety. The location of each board will determine the amount of weathering, fuming and aging present. Buyer should expect a large variety, further enhancing the overall patina and texture of the finished project.
- Skip-Planed: When the material has just a light pass taken so the entire surface is not planed smooth. It is generally done so you can see both the original weathering and saw marks while also revealing the figure in the wood. There may be sight variation in thickness that will need to be hand sanded on site after install.
- Smooth Top: The weathered patina is planed off, revealing the aged grain patterns from slow growth. Smooth top also tends to highlight original nail and bolt holes, as well as evidence of past insect activity and spalting. Aged wood exhibits many characteristics beneath the patina face that new wood has not had the time to develop. Smooth Top is a wonderful alternative to the rustic look.
- Original Aged Smooth Top: This material was originally planed smooth before being installed in it's previous application, but has endured years of wear, showing distinctive marks of previous use.
